Adding text - 01/12/2018
In this lesson, we learnt how to add text into our pieces. We learn how to add text horizontally and vertically and also how to vary font/sizes for effect. As shown in the image on the left, we also added another image onto the final piece however, we only applied it to the text. For my text, I used a picture of ripples in water and simply typed the word water. I then applied it onto my original picture. I also typed the word flowers in vertical text and made it the colour blue, at the left on the image. |
In our photography sessions, we received the task to produce our own, original album cover using the concept of 'joiners' created by David Hockney. A joiner incorporates close-up images of a person/scene and requires the editor to put them all together to either recreate the image or to slightly distort it and apply different scales in one image. Below are some examples. On the right is my interpretation of joiners, made into an album cover. I decided to use the simplest concept of joiners which was taking close up photos of someone's face and putting them together because my photo shop skills are quite weak. I used my friend, Heyam, as a model. I zoomed into her face and took overlapping images of her face. Once I did, I arranged them into a collage and attempted to use different scales which evidently did not work to my advantage. I tried to make the model's right eye seem bigger than the left to make the piece more effective. Also, I decreased the brightness and saturation of my image to make it appear darker and more pale than the original.
