Maslow's Hierarchy of needs
Maslow's theory explains how you need to be available to the basic necessities of life before you can move on to bigger things which determine status. It explains that basic needs include the privilege to be able to breathe which is followed by the requirement of pure food and clean water. This is followed by homeostasis which explains the process of everything going accordingly. As the pyramid elevates, the second section talks about being safe. This is referring to your body not being exposed to any risks of harm, being employed or going to school and having a stable income or source of income, having a family that keeps you safe and is reliable and also health care privileges such as medical insurance or privilege of a hospital/clinic. The third section is about having friends who make you feel good and fulfill your need of inclusion, having a happy family and being able to have sexual intimacy. In the fourth section, all previous things are combined into confidence . Confidence, self esteem, having a sense of achievement, respecting the ones you care about and the ones around you as well as gaining the respect of these people to gain your integrity. The final elevation refers to self actualization and it is associated with morality, creativity, spontaneity, problem solving, lack of prejudice and acceptance of facts. Basically, all things to do with your knowledge and tolerance to the real world and being able to deal with situations in a civil way while utilizing the abilities stated in the section. This is Maslow's Theory. |
